“The Keeper of the Keys” Wins The Indie Fest Award for Feature Documentary

The Keeper of the Keys just won an Indie Fest Award!

Producer Robin Jay is excited to announce that The Keeper of the Keys just won an Indie Fest award for feature documentary. “This is thrilling news,” said Jay. “Everyone involved with this movie worked very hard. We wanted to do something different, something that would be fresh and entertaining in the field of personal development. I wanted to raise the bar and make personal transformation FUN and engaging. Working on personal development can often be challenging or tedious. By making our movie funny and entertaining, we achieved the goal of our tag line: “Taking the ‘Hell’ out of Self-help!” Winning our first competition is a sign that the judges of The Indie Fest appreciated what we did. I want to thank everyone who contributed to this outstanding movie.”

The Indie Fest recognizes film professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement and who produce standout entertainment or contribute to profound social change. Entries are judged by highly qualified professionals in the film industry. In winning an Indie, TwoBirds, Inc. and Movies from the Heart join the ranks of other high-profile winners of this internationally respected award. Thomas Baker, Ph.D., who chairs the Indie Fest, had this to say about the latest winners, “The Indie is not an easy award to win. Entries are received from around the world. The Indie helps set the standard for craft and creativity. The judges were pleased with the exceptionally high quality of entries. The goal of The Indie is to help winners achieve the recognition they deserve.”

The Keeper of the Keys stars Jack Canfield, John Gray, Marci Shimoff, Ken Wallace and a cast of outstanding experts from around the world. The story is a loose takeoff of A Christmas Carol, with Jack Canfield playing a sort of Jacob Marley character. The movie blends a fictional story with expert testimonials amidst special effects that have never been seen in a transformational film before.

“The Keeper of the Keys” is the first movie in the self-help genre to take an innovative, funny approach to the field of personal development aimed at “taking the hell out of self-help.” The movie blends an entertaining fictional story line with unique expert segments featuring profound personal stories and expert advice.

The story starts with the main character, Michael Walden, having one bad day after another… and there is no end in sight. After losing his job and finding his house in foreclosure, he becomes increasingly negative and frustrated. It doesn’t help that his fiancee, Anne, tired of his rants, breaks off their engagement. Depressed and discouraged, he falls asleep… and dreams.

Success coach Jack Canfield appears and tells Michael he is sending some friends, self-help experts Marci Shimoff, John Gray, Ken Wallace and others, to help him discover the keys and how to use them to radically improve his attitude and his life.

Join Michael and his mysterious guide, Elizabeth, as they encounter a diverse group of experts eager to enlighten him. Not since “A Christmas Carol” has a dream been this rich, this revealing or this much fun.

“The Keeper of The Keys is the most innovative and entertaining film of its kind ever made. Wildly original, howlingly funny, fast-paced, and utterly delightful in every way, the film is truly a gift to the world. True to its ad copy, the film takes “the hell out of self-help” and is the new gold standard in its genre. When you see this movie, you will learn, laugh, and clap your hands with joy!”

- Stephen Simon, Co-founder of The Spiritual Cinema Circle, Producer of “Somewhere in Time” and “What Dreams May Come,” Producer & Director of “Conversations with God” and “Indigo.”

The Spiritual Cinema Circle has licensed “The Keeper of the Keys” as their feature film for April 2012.

Change and Transition Management

Machiavelli wrote in “The Prince” . . .

“There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things, because the innovator has for enemies all those who have done well under the old conditions and lukewarm defenders in those who may do well under the new.”

This is what makes change so difficult to make happen. Ken Wallace helps you identify everything that needs to be involved throughout your organization in developing a successful plan for change and a transition management process that ensures a minimum of disruption to the work environment and maximum productivity during the implementation of the change initiative.

It will be helpful to better understand some concepts of change:

Organizational Progress

An individual or organization progresses by effectively managing the process of transitioning from one state of existence to a more desirable one.

Transition is: “The process through which an existing circumstance, condition or relationship (real or imagined) is acted on in a manner that produces a new and different circumstance, condition or relationship.”

Progress is achieved when the “new and different circumstance, condition and/or relationship” is better able to help the individual or organization realize their personal or corporate vision and mission.

Ken Wallace, through his proven methods and tools, helps executives and organizations transition toward new and different sets of circumstances, conditions and relationships that enable them to accomplish better outcomes for their employees, customers, communities and nations.

He serves as a guide throughout the transition process ensuring that risks are minimized. His transition planning and implementation designs reduce the risks of performance and financial loss to the enterprise during and after the transition.

Ken is a transition strategy expert who is highly experienced in handling the challenges management teams face when confronted with the need for change in their operating environments.

He provides customized transition implementation planning and experienced leadership in transition management so that your outcomes are safely and confidently achieved with a minimum of resistance from and disruption to the operating environment.

Organizational Alignment

Alignment between management and employee perceptions of corporate strategy is critical for success in any organization. Also crucial is a mutual understanding of how the operating environment actually accomplishes (or fails to accomplish) corporate strategy.

Ken Wallace serves to bring into alignment the disparate elements of organizational life so that appropriate business strategies can be set in a timely manner and effectively and efficiently pursued at all levels of the organization.

Organizational Literacy and Core Competency Transition Skills

Ken instills literacy and core competency skills for management and employees at all levels in the following areas:

  • Assessing transition risks and preparedness
  • Transition leadership and management skills
  • Accountability development and monitoring
  • Managing differences between people to maximize teamwork and goal accomplishment
  • Efficient communication between and among all levels, departments, functions and business units

Ken Wallace provides ongoing customized instruction and technical assistance that build clients’ internal capacity to regularly apply the principles, practices and methods that he teaches.

Executive Coaching

It’s lonely at the top . . . Learn to appreciate and enjoy the challenges of leadership, the adventures of change and the fulfillment of your personal purpose. Become a 360 degree leader – see not just your business as a whole but yourself as a whole.

Top executives have very few people, if any at all, to whom they can turn in times of confusion, doubt or distress to discuss the issues and their feelings without fear of looking weak or indecisive.

Ken Wallace takes the politics out of leadership by helping leaders bear their burdens better by sharing those burdens with someone who listens thoroughly and then provides clear, honest, constructive and straightforward feedback.

Executives increase clarity and deepen their understanding of problems relating to both operations and employees as well as their emotional reactions to these problems. Equipped with this fresh perspective, they experience greater confidence, focused determination, enhanced self-esteem and renewed commitment to succeeding in the face of every challenge.

Key Benefits

In addition to all the benefits pertaining to all other forms of coaching listed here, Ken’s one-to-one coaching with executives and key leaders offers other benefits:

  • Leaders learn how to lead by loving and love without fearing “what others might think.”
  • The leadership provided by loving leaders produces better performance and financial results
  • Loving leadership creates working environments that feed employees’ personal lives off the job

Management Coaching

Learn creative and exciting ways to change your management approach into effective leadership that will be experienced by others as creative and exciting. You will be better equipped to lead your people to increased levels of efficiency, effectiveness and enjoyment of work and the working environment.

Coaching of management personnel and teams is focused on the means and manner of becoming servant leaders. Servant leadership involves all aspects of the leader’s character and personality, not just the ones that are traditionally identified as “leadership traits, practices and characteristics.”

Leading by serving is a well-known concept but not a widely practiced approach. The primary difficulty to implementing this approach is that people don’t fully and clearly understand what is necessary to do it effectively and joyously. It is not a chore but a source of joy and personal fulfillment and contentment. When a manager knows where to start and what to do next then the manager becomes a true leader who leads with passion not just with promise(s).

Ken Wallace coaches the best out of people and helps them become true leaders in the pursuit of providing outstanding service to those whom they lead.

Key Benefits

  • You’ll clarify your goals and boost your performance
  • You’ll make better decisions
  • You’ll communicate with confidence, clarity and effectiveness
  • You’ll resolve performance issues quickly
  • You’ll eliminate limiting beliefs
  • You’ll develop your relationship skills
  • You’ll model and replicate your expertise through others
  • You’ll develop your talents and expand your skill sets
  • You’ll more easily help your employees improve their performance
  • You’ll more quickly devise and implement plans for strategic growth

Employee Coaching

Learn to exercise your natural leadership ability in the relationships you have throughout the organization. You are already leading others to some degree; learn how to do it intentionally focusing on the improved results for both the company and its people.

Key Benefits

  • You will be more creative at work and at home
  • You will be able to work with others more effectively
  • You will be more satisfied and productive at what you do
  • You will be equipped to reduce and even prevent conflict
  • Your enthusiasm for your life and work will significantly increase
  • You will position yourself for greater recognition and rapid advancement

TRY OR CRY!

“If at first you don’t succeed . . .”

You know the rest, don’t you? Yes, you do. But you’re not living like you believe it, are you?

My first reaction to failure is not to try again. Rather, it’s to take a seat in my pity chair. You have such a chair, too. Mine is constructed of denial, self-deceit, fuzzy thinking, blaming and excuse-making. So is yours.

Unless we think to leave our chairs behind (pardon the pun), we are always dragging them behind us (sorry, again).  This means that we have to think about our reaction to failure at the time we feel we’ve failed or else we’ll find ourselves firmly ensconced in self-loathing and angry recriminations. “If at first you don’t succeed, cry, cry and cry again!” characterizes our reaction to failure.

Are you crying over your failures in life? The only way to stop crying is to start trying again.

I was spell-bound observing a robin that recently decided to take up residence in the birdhouse in our back yard. It swooped to the ground in search of building materials snatching up a bit of twine before flying back to its new home. Just as it reached the perch, the twine dropped from its bill.

Three times the bit of string fell to the ground as the robin tried to make it part of its nest. Each time it went down and picked it up. I found myself cheering it on.

On its next try the resolute robin tucked the piece of twine into place with painstaking care. Then it wiggled around, trying the nest on for size. It fluttered a bit, then flew off for more supplies.

The robin’s nature was not to cry over it’s momentary setbacks but to try, try again until its original mission was completed. Unfortunately, human beings naturally react to failure the other way around. Our robin didn’t have to choose how to react. It didn’t need to. But we have to if we are to accomplish our unique purpose in life.

Ask yourself, “Am I trying or crying in the face of failure?” Your choice.

Pervasive Leadership

Highly effective leadership is, quite simply, leading others as you allow yourself to be led. A highly effective leader masters four disciplines:

  • the discipline to follow
  • the discipline to lead
  • the discipline to give
  • the discipline to forgive

The highly effective leader is the one who learns what his/her people need at any given moment and then actively seeks to meet those needs. You move your organization forward and in the direction of its mission, values and goals by serving those in your organization. By serving in a timely and consistent manner, you are creating a highly effective work environment in which others are led both by and to the vision of the organization’s future.

Ken Wallace will help you create and sustain effective leadership habits throughout your entire organization by:

  • developing your people into leaders who are able and willing to take charge of an emerging situation to provide dynamic and shared leadership
  • providing leadership scenario sessions to establish and strengthen decision making and problem solving instincts among your people
  • helping people lead their own lives, not just other people’s time and efforts toward goal accomplishment
  • creating a unique process of leadership behavior into which any personality can comfortably fit and function
  • fashioning an empowered work environment in which everyone helps each other do their best jobs
  • establishing work environments in which people can do “better than their best” and in which they experience professional and personal fulfillment and joy

Leadership Integration

Leadership in any organization needs to be fostered and developed at all levels and in all areas of the work environment. And not just any type of leadership skills, knowledge and attitudes, but progressive leadership. Pervasive leadership seeks to continuously improve itself as the model for change throughout the organization.

Ken Wallace helps you create and sustain clearly-defined and finely-tuned leadership skills, knowledge, attitudes and habits throughout your entire organization thereby integrating personal and organizational leadership with desired outstanding outcomes.
